Well I guess the media have decided that:
Which means we should kick start a new fire and get everyone wound up about a new subject - slavery.
Yes that's right kids, there is now a sudden influx of slavery related articles discussing the ongoing effects of legacy slavery from a couple of hundred years ago and you know without doubt which country is going to be scapegoated and called out as being the absolute worst offender? Why the UK (of course, because remember, no other country in the world used slaves or engaged in slavery of any kind).
Let's all conveniently forget how the pyramids of Egypt were built (let's just say they weren't volunteers or paid, skilled construction engineers).
No, only the evil British indulged in slavery and of course endorsed and encouraged all forms of slavery across the globe.
We all know it was awful and we all get that and we all understand that we never want to return those ways again, so why do we have to dredge back up from the abyss (where it belongs) and into the full limelight? We don't. We simply do not need to. Same as with racism and sexism we just need to learn from our past mistakes and move on.
I don't see constant persecution of modern day Germans over the atrocities of past Germans (anyone heard of Hitler and the Nazis?), no because the British are much more likely to bend over and take it in the backside and rather than simply leave the past to the past, our own stupid media want to stoke up the fire against us again. So maybe we won't ever learn from past mistakes - because the media won't, ever.
