I have to sit back and marvel at the IQ of the person at BT, who decided that as part of your account activation, your E-MAIL ACCOUNT PASSWORD would be sent via E-MAIL to your E-MAIL ACCOUNT.
Now call me old fashioned and colour me peachy, but, how am I supposed to login to the e-mail account to retrieve the password, if the very password I require has been sent by e-mail to the account that I can't yet log into because I need the password?
Cue 27 mins on the phone to the BT Helpdesk...
Comments:
It continues, the BT Vision package is not working properly. Cue another 28 min phone call (they must have a company rule about not exceeding 30 minute phone calls). Apparently as part of a free upgrade from upto 8Mbps to upto 24mbps broadband, they had neglected to apply QoS to the BT Vision side of things, thus I am unable to watch movies on demand.
Allegedly it’ll be resolved in the next 48 hours…
Stuey,
If you haven’t learnt by now that BT are an even worse bunch of f*ckwits than a certain company whose name shall ever be synonymous with ‘muppets’, you deserve every bit of pain that they are inflicting upon you.
Of course, if you had merely wanted up-to-24Mbit/s ADSL, you could have asked me nicely to set you up with one of our own broadband offerings.
Love,
Mr. T
Well, the pain has been shortlived Mr T, since everything now works beautifully
Though I will think about your offer, does it include a digital TV service? If so I could potentially be sold!!
Nope – don’t do digital TV.
It helps to focus on one thing and do that exceptionally well rather than try and do multiple things with varying degrees of success.
It would be interesting to see what performance you actually get from your ADSL service though as quite a few of BT’s 21CN nodes have been falling over during the last weeks due to ‘excessive congestion’ – seems to coincide with them offering the 20Mbit/s service as well.
Personally, I’m very happy with getting a consistent 836Kbytes/s download speed from my 8Mbit/s ADSL service; no ADSL2+ here for at least the next 18 months
