Why do I have to pay an exorbitant fee to employ the services of a solicitor who then gets me to do all of her work? It would be more sensible for me to simply deal directly with the other party's solicitor. I am paying an arm, leg and vital internal organs for a solicitor to "manage" the sale of my flat, but instead of completing the job herself, she merely contacts me to get me to do the groundwork for her. For example, she has now just sent me an email asking me to contact the solicitor the negotiated my purchase of the flat (years ago) to forward any information (such as title deeds etc) that they may be holding about the flat, to her.
"Erm, 'scuse me love, but isn't that what I'm paying you to do?"
Comments:
The joke continues, 11 months on and the sale has still not completed.
Mainly because all solicitors involved are picking up on extreme trivialities of the sale and making them into enormous sticking that cannot possibly allow the sale to continue. Idiots. There may be some light at the end of the tunnel as I have been informed that my case is now a priority and that there may be completion within the next 2 weeks. I won’t hold my breath.
Woohoo! The flat has finally sold! The useless git solicitor and extremely moronic estate agent have finally got their act together and processed the sale. Only taken them a year, good going losers!
